South Shore Wine Company is locally known for its historic stone cavern tasting room, one of only a handful of examples of this architecture in the Eastern United States. Built in the 1860’s in the style of traditional French wine caverns, the stone cellar is a unique setting for sipping some of our region’s most toast-worthy wines. A robust selection of bubbly, made in traditional, contemporary, and experimental methods, pays homage to our region’s storied history of sparkling wines. Equally festive are a trio of delicately sweet bottles as well as a collection of lesser-known, but entirely impressive emerging varietals.

Sister winery to nearby Mazza Vineyards, which has been in operation since 1972, the South Shore Wine Company was purchased and restored by the Mazza family in 2007 and re-opened to the public as a tasting room and wine cellar. The original “South Shore Wine Company” name was re-established to commemorate the first commercial winery in the region, which operated on this same site. Visitors can learn some of the history of grape growing and wine making pioneers in the region.
